The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region was rocked by a spate of violent attacks this year that left scores of people dead.

Terrorists and separatists were blamed on the bloodshed but what was the cause that makes common Uyghur people to sink to violent killers?

An average Uyghur woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the sino-us.com that two negative factors fomented anger among the Uyghur people.

One is unbalanced education. In southern Xinjiang where universal education is not available yet, teenagers are vulnerable to be misled by terrorists and religious extremists. The other factor is low employment. An unfair employment rate between Han and Uyghur people bears resentment, she said.
