A traditional Chinese medicine doctor won the Wonderful Outstanding Women (WOW) of 2015 award in Beijing, wrapping up the 4th annual WOW awards ceremony on the International Women’s Day.
Hu Sumin, professor with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), took the title of the night at the Hilton Beijing where some 153 nominees and visitors attended the event organized by FCGroup. Hu has devoted herself to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for more than 20 years.
The annual WOW awards recognize the work of the outstanding women in Beijing in 13 categories including business, charity, fashion, medical, culture and working mothers, etc. The nominee who receives the most votes is awarded the WOW of the year.
French salon founder Catherine Colin pocketed the business title. Migrant Children’s Foundation director Helen Boyle took the charity award and Wu Xiaoyi, president of Beijing Passion International Medical Center, defeated the other five nominees in a neck-to-neck race in the medical category.
“I’ve been here last year but without luck. And I’m very happy to win tonight,” Helen Boyle told the Sino-US.com, which is media sponsor of the annual event.
“It’s my first time to be nominated for the WOW awards,” said Dr. Wu, “I’m looking forward to joining the event next year.”
