Sheltered Bridge in Longjin

The sheltered bridge(风雨桥) in the center of Zhijiang county is the longest sheltered bridge in the world. It has a wooden structure and was built in 1591 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

It was established without any nails and enjoys the reputation of “No 1 Bridge in Southwestern Hunan”. It looks like a giant dragon over the river.

Transport: Take public buses from Huaihua City to Zhijiang county
