6. 7.21 Downpour drenches Beijing

Beijing was inundated on July 21 when the biggest rainstorm in 61 years hit the capital and killed 79 people, according to the CCTV reports. Fangshan county was the most devastated place where the rainfall reached 460mm and caused torrential flooding. The city’s drainage system was laid bare by the natural disaster but Samaritans turned on a silver lining in the cloud and breathed hope and faith in the city.
